September 22, 2016:– In keeping with the Government’s commitment to facilitate the growth and development of the local steel industry, Senator the Honourable Paula Gopee-Scoon, Minister of Trade and Industry met with the senior management of Nu-Iron Unlimited on Wednesday 21 September, 2016 and toured its facilities. Nu-Iron Unlimited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nucor Corporation based in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States of America. They produce Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) which is melted and processed into steel. Nu-Iron Unlimited is the largest shipper of cold DRI in the world.
