Senator the Honourable Paula Gopee-Scoon, Minister of Trade and Industry congratulates all businesses that were recognized by the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce at its annual Champions of Business Awards 2023 held on 2 November 2023. Minister Gopee-Scoon also applauds the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce (TTCIC) for its unwavering commitment in recognizing the outstanding achievements of our local business titans and trailblazers.
In congratulating the award recipients during her pre-recorded Remarks, Minister Gopee-Scoon emphasised that success in the business world requires more than a mere confluence of good ideas and hard work. She said, “It demands resilience in the face of inevitable setbacks and adaptability in an ever-evolving market.” She also reiterated the Ministry of Trade and Industry’s commitment to continue implementing targeted initiatives which place a strong emphasis on bolstering the non-energy sector and expanding and promoting exports, internationally.
The Minister acknowledges the sterling contributions made by the Business Hall of Fame Inductees to the business and commercial landscape in the country in 2023. Special commendation is extended to Carib Brewery Limited (Carib) on receiving the “Internationally Known T&T Owned Company of the Year” Award sponsored by the Ministry of Trade and Industry. This award category highlights and recognizes a business that embodies the spirit of international success, serving as an ambassador for the ingenuity and capability that define Trinidad and Tobago. Carib’s continuous thirst for excellence, coupled with a profound understanding of global markets, has not only positioned the Company as a beacon within its industry, but has also elevated the reputation of our country’s products. Acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Trade and Industry, Mr. Randall Karim, presented the award on behalf of the Minister of Trade and Industry to Mr Adrian Sabga, Head of Business Development Sales, Carib Brewery.
