The Ministry of Trade and Industry is seeking to recruit suitable candidates on contract to fill the following positions:
Job Summary
The incumbent is accountable for providing strategic leadership in defining the GORTT’s Trade, Business and Investment Policy and Strategy. The incumbent provides expert leadership in the development and reform of systems and associated processes at a national level, to improve the ease of doing business in Trinidad and Tobago. The incumbent provides oversight and monitoring of all projects under the Development Programme of the Ministry to ensure project success. The incumbent has the overall technical responsibility for policy development and analysis, research, planning and execution of the strategic direction of the Ministry. The incumbent also provides leadership and direction in the development and implementation of best practice strategic initiatives within the organization. Work is performed with innovation and independent judgement.
Job Summary
The incumbent is responsible for the development and implementation of investment policy formulation and analysis. The incumbent will be required to provide strategic guidance,
manage the performance of core activities and implement effective operational management for the work of the Investment Directorate. In addition, he/she will be required to work with stakeholders to improve Trinidad and Tobago’s international competitiveness through the active communication and implementation of the Ministry’s strategic direction as it relates to investment development and growth, achievement of key performance measures, development of an integrated investment promotion strategy, management and development of strategic alliances and the coordination of local and international investment promotion initiatives.
Job Summary
The Senior Investment Specialist will be part of the Investment Directorate, which is charged with the formulation and execution of the macro-investment policy of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and ensuring that the country’s investment performance measures are met. This individual who will be part of a dynamic team of performers will be expected to work with minimal guidance.

This incumbent is required to develop, implement, direct and evaluate the Ministry’s/Department’s marketing and communications strategies and programmes including public relations, media relations, web site content and the Ministry’s/Department’s identity/ image programme. Duties include planning, organising, directing and coordinating the work of staff engaged in the performance of related activities. Duties also include using communications as a vital component of the overall change management programme in support of the Ministry’s/Department’s initiatives amongst internal stakeholders and to inform clients, employees and the general public of initiatives and policies of government and of the Ministry/Department.
Job Summary
The incumbent is required to contribute to the achievement of the communications targets of the Ministry/Department and assist in monitoring their implementation. Duties include coordinating media relations strategies, producing and disseminating materials for communicating information about the Ministry/Department and its services; coordinating the content of the intranet or external website and the production of a quarterly newsletter; disseminating reports and publications; and maintain an updated database of contacts and an effective communication system within the Ministry/Department. Depending on work assignment, the incumbent will be required to perform duties in one or more of the Communications functional areas.

Duties include tracking project progress; assisting in budget preparation; monitoring work plan execution and in writing project related reports and other documentation and coordinating and scheduling of project meetings.

The incumbent is required to perform work involving the conduct of research related to the laws and legal issues pertinent to the operations of the Ministry/Department. Duties include preparing legal documents and developing and maintaining a repository of documents on legal matters. Dependent on assignment, the incumbent may be required to perform the full range or some of the duties listed.
