La Vigie Paramin Lookout

The Lopinot Estate was established by the Compte de Lopinot, a French colonial planter who fled the Haitian Revolution in 1791 and settled in Trinidad. What now stands as the museum on the site was originally the estate manager’s home. The site was restored at one point and declared as a heritage asset by the National Trust of Trinidad and Tobago but is now in a state of deterioration and disrepair and needs to be upgraded to facilitate its status as a tourism site and attraction. As the site now falls under the purview of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts, the Ministry is responsible for all required upgrade and maintenance works at this facility.
