The Ministry of Trade, Investment and Tourism today welcomed His Excellency Victor Hugo Melendez, Ambassador of Mexico, who paid a courtesy call at the Ministry’s offices in Port of Spain.
Ambassador Melendez was received by Senator the Honourable Satyakama Maharaj, Minister of Trade, Investment and Tourism and Dr. Colin Gosine MP, Parliamentary Secretary.
The meeting featured cordial discussion on a wide range of areas, including bilateral trade, tourism and investment opportunities to strengthen economic ties between Trinidad and Tobago and Mexico.
Ambassador Melendez expressed his continued commitment to working with the Ministry to deepen the longstanding and mutually beneficial relationship between Trinidad and Tobago and Mexico.
Expressing similar sentiments, Minister Maharaj echoed Trinidad and Tobago’s commitment to diversifying the national economy and looked forward to the exploration of new trade partnerships, and the strengthening of existing ones.
The Ministry remains committed to advancing international partnerships that unlock new opportunities for local businesses and contribute to Trinidad and Tobago’s national development agenda.
