The Ministry of Trade, Investment and Tourism welcomed His Excellency Dr. Pradeep Rajpurohit, High Commissioner for the Republic of India, during a courtesy call at the Ministry’s head office in Port of Spain.
High Commissioner Rajpurohit was received by Senator the Honourable Satyakama Maharaj, Minister of Trade, Investment and Tourism, along with Dr. Colin Neil Gosine, MP, Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry; Ms. Reita Toussaint, Permanent Secretary; and Ms. Ava Mahabir-Dass, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Ag.).
Discussions during the meeting focused on the Government’s ongoing efforts to further diversify the national economy, with emphasis on trade, investment, the growth of the manufacturing sector, and tourism.
Today’s engagement served as a reaffirmation of the strong partnership between the two countries, and as an opportunity to explore avenues for cooperation in support of sustainable economic growth and diversification.
The Ministry looks forward to deepening its partnership with the Republic of India and working together to drive sustainable economic growth and mutual prosperity.
