The Ministry of Trade, Investment and Tourism today welcomed Dr. Jenifer Neidhart de Ortiz, Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of the United States of America, who paid a courtesy call to the Ministry’s head office in Port of Spain.

Dr. Neidhart de Ortiz and her delegation were received by Senator the Honourable Satyakama Maharaj, Minister of Trade, Investment and Tourism, along with Dr. Colin Neil Gosine MP, Parliamentary Secretary, and Mr. Randall Karim, Permanent Secretary.

The meeting featured cordial discussions on a wide range of areas, including bilateral trade, investment cooperation, and avenues for strengthening economic ties between Trinidad and Tobago and the United States.

Dr. Neidhart de Ortiz expressed her enthusiasm for working with the Ministry’s new leadership and underscored the importance of deepening the long-standing and mutually beneficial trade relationship between both nations. Minister Maharaj echoed these sentiments, reaffirming Trinidad and Tobago’s openness to business and its commitment to enhancing its role in the global economy.

Today’s engagement served as an opportunity to reaffirm the strong partnership between Trinidad and Tobago and the United States, and to explore pathways for expanded cooperation in support of sustainable economic growth and diversification.
