In delivering remarks at eTecK’s 20th Anniversary and Awards Celebration held at the Trinidad Hilton and Conference Centre on Friday (December 6, 2024), Senator the Honourable Paula Gopee-Scoon congratulated eTecK’s leadership and staff and recognized the agency for being instrumental in facilitating investments locally.
“With just 75 employees, thousands of persons are gainfully employed, helping to secure the socio-economic development of the population and facilitating a stable means of living for employees at all of the agency’s managed properties,” the Minister said.
Moreover, from a modest beginning in 2004, eTecK has grown into a pivotal force, advancing the mandate of the Ministry of Trade and Industry through industrial development and economic transformation.
Minister Gopee-Scoon explained, “Over the past nine years—since holding office—the Government has worked hand in hand with eTecK to create economic spaces where the private sector can thrive, catapulting our industrial landscape. During this time, five industrial parks have been opened, including the Moruga Agro-Processing and Light Industrial Park, the first of its kind in the Caribbean and the Phoenix Park Industrial Estate, our state-of-the-art first 5G industrial park in Trinidad and Tobago, all done under eTecK’s hands.”
Additional parks are also underway, the Minister revealed, emphasising that through these construction projects, eTecK is providing roughly 400 businesses across Trinidad and Tobago with access to up-to-date infrastructure, strategic locations, and an enabling environment that supports modernization, efficiency, and growth.
“What’s even more impressive is eTeck’s success in securing 100 percent tenancy for the Factory Road Light Industrial Park, even before its official commissioning,” the Minister said.
The Minister also applauded eTecK’s management for their stellar performance in steering the company and noted that the Ministry remains committed to collaborating toward building a prosperous future together.
