Ministry of Trade, Investment and Tourism participates in the Twenty-Sixth Session of the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism)

The Ministry of Trade, Investment and Tourism, is pleased to announce that Trinidad and Tobago is participating in the Twenty-Sixth Session of the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), and represented by Senator the Honourable Satyakama Maharaj, Minister of Trade, Investment and Tourism in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, from 7–11 November 2025.

This year’s Assembly carries special significance as it marks the 50th anniversary of UN Tourism, celebrating five decades of advancing global collaboration, innovation, and sustainable growth in the tourism sector.

Held under the theme “AI-Powered Tourism: Redefining the Future,” the 2025 General Assembly will explore how artificial intelligence and emerging technologies can transform the global tourism landscape enhancing competitiveness, sustainability, and inclusivity.

The session brings together high-level representatives from UN Tourism Member States, as well as leaders from public and private sectors, academia, and international organizations. Discussions will include the adoption of key frameworks such as the Global Framework to Measure Innovation in Tourism, Guidelines for Emerging Applications in Tourism, and a Ministerial Declaration on the Future of Tourism.

Trinidad and Tobago’s participation in this high-level meeting underscores the nation’s commitment to engaging in global dialogue on innovation and sustainability in tourism, while strengthening partnerships that support digital transformation and inclusive growth within the sector.

In addition to the formal proceedings, delegates will have the opportunity to experience the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s rich heritage, hospitality, and natural landscapes, reinforcing the direction of tourism products.
