TTBizLink Achieves a Public Sector Milestone with Cloud Migration

September 10th 2019: The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) has successfully implemented a cloud-based solution to support Trinidad and Tobago’s online trade platform TTBizLink. The migration to a cloud environment will reduce MTI’s capital and operational costs by approximately 30%. The change will also improve TTBizLink’s performance, provide a high standard of data protection, information security, business agility and efficiency.

According to the Minister of Trade and Industry, Senator the Honourable Paula Gopee-Scoon “This is a significant accomplishment and the first of its kind for an enterprise-wide solution by the Government. We are heartened that the use of digital technology which is already integrated into our daily lives is now being embraced within the public sector.” The initiative will impact MTI’s online environment for trade and business facilitation, TTBizLink while members of the public, the business community and various government departments also stand to benefit from the upgrade.

Also known as the Single Electronic Window for Trade and Business Facilitation, TTBizLink has eliminated the need for physical I.T. infrastructure such as, servers and networking hardware with this development.  The MTI demonstrates its continued commitment to transforming its operations into a flexible and dynamic environment that is responsive to change.  This upgrade will provide TTBizLink’s users with a more robust infrastructure, while they continue to gain access to this world-class solution remotely.

TTBizLink is a secure online platform that provides 24/7 access to forty-six (46) e-Services across twenty four (24) agencies, from seven (7) ministries, together with the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
