Eleven new e-services are now available on the Single Electronic Window, TTBizLink. Senator the Honourable Paula Gopee-Scoon made the announcement during a media launch held Friday, Aug. 30, 2024 at the Ministry of Trade and Industry Headquarters, Port of Spain.

The Minister said, “This launch represents a significant step forward in the Government’s ongoing efforts to enhance service delivery across Trinidad and Tobago. It underscores our commitment to providing citizens and businesses with efficient, accessible, and modernized government services that position our nation as a leader in trade facilitation and governance.”

The new e-services join a suite of over 45 e-services currently available on the platform. The new additions include:

  • Manufacturer and Product Registration for Exports to Preferential Markets
  • Manufacturer and Product Registration for Exports to Non-Preferential Markets
  • Local Free Sale Certificates
  • Controlled Drugs Licences
  • Recommendation to the Import of Fish
  • Recommendation to the Export of Fish
  • Recommendation to the Import of Fishing Vessels
  • Recommendation to the Duty Relief Licences for Fish
  • Recommendation to the Import of Special Vehicles
  • Scrap Metal Collector’s Licence
  • Scrap Metal Dealer’s Licence

The Minister said, “Through the introduction of these new e-services–six of which will immediately facilitate online payments–we ensure that Government services are more accessible and efficient than ever before. These new services have been designed to meet TTBizLink’s standards of user-friendliness and security, ensuring that users can complete transactions with ease and confidence.”

Also speaking at the launch was the Honourable Terrence Deyalsingh, Minister of Health. Minister Deyalsingh pointed out the importance of technology referencing two of the new e-services: the Local Free Sale Certificates, which allows manufacturers of food products to obtain certification online ensuring that their products meet health and safety standards outlined in the Food and Drugs Act and the Controlled Drugs Licences, which allows pharmaceutical wholesalers and retailers to more efficiently obtain the approval to purchase, store and sell these items in Trinidad and Tobago. “Adoption of technology leads to not only economies of scale but also efficiencies,” he said.

The Ministry of Health is among several collaborating TTBizLink partners, which include” the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries; Ministry of Digital Transformation, Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Labour, Ministry of National Security, Ministry of Works and Transport, Tobago House of Assembly, Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Trinidad and Tobago Bureau of Standards and ExporTT (now amalgamated into the Trinidad and Tobago Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).
