The Ministry of Trade, Investment and Tourism (MTTI) and the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure (MWI) continue to partner on improving the operations of the maritime sector in Trinidad and Tobago. Such collaboration between the MTTI’s TTBizLink Unit and MWI’s Maritime Services Division (MSD) resulted in the roll out of the Online Payment Facility for Navigational Aids Dues to the MSD on TTBizLink – the National Single Electronic Window (SEW) for Trade and Business Facilitation.
Through this Online Payment Facility on TTBizLink, the shipping community benefits from the safety and efficiency of making payments at their convenience and 24/7. This improved efficiency benefits both the MSD and the shipping community, making it easier and faster to submit and process Vessel Voyage Declarations. These efficiency improvements support the Government’s commitment to making it easier to do business in Trinidad and Tobago.
As at February 28th, 2026, TT$681,012.00 in fees have been paid to MSD via this facility, representing 266 vessel voyages. Both Ministries and their respective agencies, TTBizLink and MSD, thank the shipping community for the support shown with this development and for their input during the pre-launch stage, which has ensured that the facility is efficient, secure, and intuitive. Charles Adam Carvalho, Director, Carvalho’s Agencies Ltd., Carvalho’s Group of Companies noted upon using the Online Payment Facility: “I can say for sure this is a step in the right direction and we appreciate the work done to create this online payment facility. It worked flawlessly for us and we had no issues.”
The MTTI and the MWI are committed to continue working closely together to strengthen and improve the operations of Trinidad and Tobago’s maritime sector.
