Senator the Honourable Paula Gopee-Scoon, Minister of Trade and Industry received a courtesy visit from His Excellency Pertti Ikonen, non-resident Ambassador of Finland to Trinidad and Tobago on Thursday 7 July, 2023.
Discussions focused on improving trade, investment and cooperation between both countries. Ambasasdor Ikonen highlighted Finland’s advancements in the area of Renewable Energy and expressed a desire to increase collaboration with Trinidad and Tobago in this area.
Minister Gopee-Scoon and Ambassador Ikonen also discussed cooperation in information and communication technology (ICT), especially 5G technology, as well as, education and the film industry. Both Parties agreed to continue dialogue in these areas and pursue joint initiatives to realize commercial opportunities.
