17 August, 2018: The Ministry of Trade and Industry is satisfied that Nutrimix Group of Companies has met all regulatory and legal requirements for the construction of the new Hatchery in Couva for which sod was turned on Wednesday August 15, 2018.
As reported, the company has received its Certificate of Environmental Clearance from the Environmental Management Authority in 2017 as well as statutory approvals from the Town and Country Planning Division of the Ministry of Planning and Development, the Department of Drainage and Highways of the Ministry of Works and Transport and the Water and Sewerage Authority for the construction of a waste water treatment plant.
The Government is committed to support and facilitate investments and the development of industries which adhere to the necessary obligations. The Next Generation Hatchery presents an opportunity for foreign exchange earnings through exports and will create 100 jobs during the construction phase and 50 additional jobs upon completion.
