The Ministry of Trade, Investment and Tourism yesterday welcomed Dr. Colin Neil Gosine, newly appointed Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry, during his inaugural visit to the Ministry’s Port-of-Spain headquarters where he formally met with Permanent Secretary Mr. Randall Karim and members of staff.
Dr. Gosine, a seasoned public servant and business leader with over 30 years of experience, brings a wealth of expertise in the finance, insurance, and energy sectors to the Ministry’s executive team.
During his visit, Dr. Gosine engaged in meaningful dialogue with Ministry personnel where he reaffirmed Government’s commitment to advancing national economic development with a clear focus on non-energy sector advancement, private sector engagement, innovation, and export growth. He highlighted the importance of shaping a resilient and inclusive economy, and reiterated Government’s intention to accelerate diversification, deepen trade relationships, and create a stronger enabling environment for trade, investment, manufacturing, innovation, and tourism.
Dr. Gosine is a seasoned business leader and public servant with over 30 years of experience across the finance, insurance and energy sectors. He previously served as Managing Director of a leading Insurance Brokerage in Trinidad and Tobago, where he significantly expanded the firm’s portfolio and pioneered innovative insurance solutions both locally and regionally.
In the public sector, Dr. Gosine served as Chairman of the Trinidad and Tobago National Petroleum Marketing Company (NP), where he spearheaded a major financial turnaround and oversaw key operational upgrades across the national fuel distribution network.
His commitment to national development is further evidenced by his Board Level contributions to the Export-Import Bank of Trinidad & Tobago (EXIMBANK) and the National Agricultural Marketing and Development Corporation (NAMDEVCO), which supported National Development in Trade and Agriculture. He also served as a former Temporary Senator, where he made significant and consistent contributions to National Policy making.
Dr. Gosine is the Member of Parliament (MP) for Chaguanas West.
His academic qualifications include a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA), a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and dual Bachelor’s Degrees in Mathematics and Administrative Studies.
